Hello everyone,
Well let me start by saying that I'm so loving all the discussions here.
For hadary's topic, I am Muslim and Egyptian. So I hope that I would give some helpful explanations or diffuse some confusions regarding the above-mentioned article.
The word fatwa simply means: an Islamic point of view regarding issues, given by a Muslim scholar. This fatwa is not to be taken or followed as God's words. Moderate Muslims do not consider scholars as holy figures. They err and talk on emotional impulses. Only a few could be trusted in regards to these matters. Still, we do not feel obliged to do whatever "they" want us to do.
A fatwa could only involve a death penalty in one case, murder!
As for alcohol, yes it's prohibited in islam., but law in Egypt is not Islamic. You could buy beer and wine from supermarkets. It's served in restaurants and pubs. Yet, the Egyptian culture, due to its conservative nature, condemns it. the most important thing, drinking and promoting liquor does not cross the law in Egypt. It just gets on the nerves of the conservatives.
Bottom line, they can't do anything to hadary for wearing this shirt. What you read is a just some propaganda by,most probably, a journalist whose Ahly affiliation has got the best of him. His frustration and anger over Hadary's departure from the Ahly team is certainly not over. That's why he's using this minor detail to damage Hadary's popularity.
I like to add that hadary is still loved and adored by his fans, except for a minority. And even this minority still follows his news, his new videos. They have an endless love for this guy.
The reaction towards this piece of news: it didn't affect the admiration people have for him at all. Only some frustrated Egyptian Ahly fans have mentioned this topic, to create some negativity around him. But it failed to create anything.
As for the terrorist attacks, they are totally not serious. They don’t even mention that in newspapers, including those which are supportive or critical of his FC Sion move.
Sorry for the long reply guys. Wish u all the best
